Austin, Texas

Dedicated in 1999 by then-Governor George W. Bush, this simple, star-shaped monument to the veterans of “The Forgotten War” is built of the same Texas Rose granite as the State Capitol building. The names of all 1,723 Texans who did not return from Korea are carved into the stone and memorialized for posterity, their sacrifice for our freedom never to be forgotten.
