We want you to meet our wonderful employees! In order to do this we will periodically ask them a series of questions (both work and non-work related) for you can better get to know them.

Our spotlight today is on Amber Ritter, Project Designer/Manager. Last month marked her 10 year anniversary with our firm and we know that you will love getting to know her.

1. First off, tell us about your role and how long you have been working at Turner Duran Architects. I've been here for 10 years and have worked my way up from an intern to Project Designer/Manager. I spend most of my time reviewing drawing sets, researching anything and everything and trying to get everyone on the same page. It's pretty chaotic, but I love it.

2. What has been your proudest moment while working at Turner Duran Architects? - Working on Katy City Hall. I grew up in Katy, so it meant a lot to me to be part of it from start to finish.

3. What was your first job? - My first job was lifeguarding at the neighborhood pool since I was there every day already.

4. What three traits define you? - Sincere, Shy, Grateful

5. What are your hobbies and interests outside of work? - Gardening, nature walks, observing wildlife - basically anything that involves being outside on a nice day or out on/by the water.

6. What was the best vacation that you have ever been on? - Maui - loved it so much we went twice. During the winter months, the humpback whales are there and you can see them from shore - it's definitely worth seeing up close.

7. What is your favorite band/musician of all time? - Of all time? This may sound corny, but my favorite group is Depeche Mode. They never let me down.

8. What is your favorite food? - Brick-oven pizza (in particular basil pesto or margherita)

9. Do you have a life motto or personal mantra? - "Less is More" (Mies van der Rohe)

10. Tell us one thing that everyone at the office would be surprised to learn about you. - There isn't much that everyone doesn't know already, but one thing that might be unknown is that I used to make jewelry and purses. I still currently make wreaths and mums - so if you are reading this and need some front door decor let me know!
